Ryan Gromfin is The Restaurant Boss, a former restaurant owner turned industry coach who has built one of the largest restaurant and food business education platforms on YouTube with over 134,000 subscribers. His channel is a go-to resource for restaurant owners, food truck operators, and anyone looking to start a food service business.

Content covers how to start and run a profitable food truck business, restaurant profit margin optimization and food cost control, menu engineering and pricing strategies, hiring and managing restaurant staff effectively, marketing strategies for restaurants and food trucks, POS systems and technology for food service businesses, reducing food waste and controlling inventory costs, building standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food businesses, scaling from one location to multiple units, and navigating permits, licenses, and health inspections.

What makes Ryan exceptional is his practitioner-first approach — he built, ran, and sold his own restaurants before becoming a coach, giving him credibility that purely academic business advisors lack. His SCALE training program has helped over 300 restaurant owners optimize their operations, and his YouTube content consistently delivers actionable, no-fluff advice that food business owners can implement immediately. He covers the full spectrum from food trucks to fine dining, making his content relevant to entrepreneurs at every stage and format of the food business.

Ryan monetizes through his SCALE coaching program for restaurant owners, online courses, consulting, YouTube ad revenue, and speaking engagements. His coaching program focuses on the five pillars of restaurant success: Systems, Controls, Accountability, Labor, and Execution.

For Moonlite users, the food truck business is one of the most exciting entry points into the food industry. Startup costs range from $50,000-200,000 (vs. $500K+ for a restaurant), with successful food trucks generating $250,000-500,000+ in annual revenue. Food trucks offer flexibility, lower overhead, and the ability to test concepts before committing to a brick-and-mortar location. Ryan provides the operational framework to run a food business profitably from day one, whether it is on wheels or in a building.
