Dustin Stelzer is a Master Electrician from Austin, Texas and the founder of Electrician U, one of the most comprehensive electrical trade education platforms on YouTube with over 874,000 subscribers and 119+ million views. Since launching in 2016, Dustin has built a full ecosystem of training content that covers both the technical and business sides of the electrical trade.

Content covers how to become an electrician and navigate the apprenticeship process, electrical theory and code explanations for journeymen and apprentices, starting and growing an electrical contracting business, residential and commercial wiring techniques and best practices, NEC code changes and compliance requirements, troubleshooting electrical problems systematically, tool reviews and recommendations for electricians, safety practices and OSHA compliance for electrical work, estimating and pricing electrical jobs profitably, and building a career path from apprentice to master electrician to business owner.

What makes Electrician U exceptional is its structured, curriculum-like approach to electrical education. Unlike many trade channels that focus on random tips, Dustin has built a comprehensive learning system that takes viewers from foundational concepts through advanced techniques. His content bridges the gap between formal trade school education and real-world field experience, making complex electrical concepts accessible to self-learners. The channel also addresses the business side — helping electricians transition from employee to entrepreneur.

Dustin monetizes through his Electrician U website with premium learning content and courses, YouTube ad revenue, sponsorships from electrical tool and equipment manufacturers, his online community and membership programs, and social media content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter. He has also partnered with marketing agencies to expand his reach across platforms.

For Moonlite users, electrical contracting is one of the highest-paying and most in-demand trades. Licensed electricians earn $60,000-$100,000+ as employees, while electrical business owners can generate $200K-$1M+ in annual revenue. The industry faces a severe labor shortage — the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 73,500 new electrician jobs annually through 2032. Startup costs for an electrical business range from $10,000-$50,000 depending on licensing requirements and equipment needs. The licensing barrier creates strong competitive moats, and recurring work (service calls, upgrades, new construction) provides reliable revenue streams. Electrician U provides the technical foundation and business knowledge to succeed in this lucrative trade.
