Cy Porter, the creator behind CyFy Home Inspections, is a Phoenix-area home inspector who went viral for his brutally honest inspection videos. With nearly 1.2 million combined followers across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, Cy has become the most recognized home inspector on social media and a powerful educator for both aspiring home inspectors and home buyers.

Content covers new construction inspection fails and common builder mistakes, how to start and grow a home inspection business, red flags home buyers should watch for, behind-the-scenes of real home inspections, building code violations and safety hazards, home inspection business marketing and client acquisition, educational content about plumbing, electrical, roofing, and foundation issues, and industry commentary on builder accountability.

What makes Cy exceptional is his fearless approach to calling out poor construction quality. His videos documenting inspection failures in new-build homes attracted national media attention — including coverage from Gizmodo and local news — when a major Arizona builder tried to silence him through legal complaints. The Streisand Effect only amplified his following. His jovial, no-nonsense personality makes complex building science accessible to everyday home buyers.

Cy monetizes through his home inspection business (CyFy Home Inspections), social media brand deals, speaking engagements, and educational content. His massive following drives direct business referrals, proving that content creation can supercharge a service-based business.

For Moonlite users, the home inspection industry is a $6B+ market with low barriers to entry. Training and licensing can be completed in 2-4 months, startup costs are $5,000-15,000, and inspectors typically charge $300-600+ per inspection. Cy demonstrates how combining genuine expertise with authentic social media content can build both a thriving inspection business and a media brand simultaneously.
