Chenell Basilio is the creator of Growth In Reverse, a newsletter and content brand that reverse-engineers how the most successful creators grew their audiences. With over 40,000 newsletter subscribers, Chenell has carved out a unique niche by doing deep-dive case studies on creators like Justin Welsh, Lenny Rachitsky, Packy McCormick, and Codie Sanchez — dissecting exactly what strategies they used to build massive followings and profitable media businesses.

Content covers deep-dive growth case studies on how top creators built their newsletters from zero to hundreds of thousands of subscribers, newsletter growth strategies and tactics broken down from real examples, content marketing strategies that actually drive subscriber growth, social media to newsletter conversion funnels and audience building, how successful creators monetize newsletters through sponsorships, courses, and communities, platform-specific growth strategies for Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and Substack, the economics of running a newsletter business as a solo creator, how to find and dominate a content niche, building in public and leveraging transparency for audience growth, and lessons from creators who turned newsletters into seven-figure businesses.

What makes Chenell exceptional is her research-first approach to content. Rather than sharing opinions or untested theories, she spends 20-40 hours researching each creator case study — analyzing their posting history, growth curves, content strategies, and monetization timeline. This depth of research produces insights that are genuinely unique and actionable, not recycled advice. Her Growth In Reverse newsletter has become required reading for newsletter operators, content creators, and media entrepreneurs who want to learn from proven playbooks rather than guesswork. She grew her own newsletter from zero to 20,000 subscribers in just 8 months by practicing what she preaches — creating insanely valuable content that people cannot help but share.

Chenell monetizes through premium newsletter content and community membership, sponsorships on the Growth In Reverse newsletter, consulting and advisory services for newsletter creators, and her website growthinreverse.com with free and premium research content.

For Moonlite users, Chenell represents the power of niche expertise in the newsletter space. Her model proves that you do not need a massive social media following to build a profitable newsletter — you need exceptionally valuable content in a focused niche. Newsletter businesses can start with zero investment and scale to six figures through sponsorship revenue, premium subscriptions, and community offerings. The creator economy newsletter niche alone generates millions in annual revenue across its top operators. Chenell Basilio and Growth In Reverse provide the research and case studies that show aspiring newsletter creators exactly what works — with receipts.
