Brian Dean is the founder of Backlinko, one of the most respected SEO and content marketing education brands in the world. His site was acquired by Semrush in 2022, cementing his legacy as one of the top SEO educators of the past decade. Brian is known for pioneering the "Skyscraper Technique" — a link-building strategy that has been widely adopted across the SEO industry. He has built a YouTube channel with over 500,000 subscribers focused exclusively on SEO, content marketing, and organic traffic growth. His content is known for being data-driven, actionable, and meticulously researched.

Content covers search engine optimization fundamentals — on-page SEO, technical SEO, and site architecture, link building strategies — the Skyscraper Technique, guest posting, broken link building, and digital PR, keyword research — finding high-value keywords with commercial intent and manageable competition, content marketing — creating content that ranks, attracts backlinks, and converts, YouTube SEO — optimizing videos for YouTube search and suggested video placement, Google algorithm updates — understanding and adapting to core updates, E-E-A-T — building topical authority and demonstrating expertise for Google rankings, SEO case studies — real-world examples of ranking improvements with specific tactics, conversion rate optimization — turning organic traffic into leads and customers, and the business of SEO — building an SEO consulting business or agency.

What makes Brian exceptional is his commitment to quality over quantity. While most SEO educators pump out daily content, Brian publishes infrequently but each piece is exhaustively researched and backed by original data. His Backlinko blog posts routinely rank #1 for highly competitive SEO keywords — serving as living proof that his strategies work. The Skyscraper Technique alone has been cited in thousands of marketing articles and taught in university courses. His YouTube content achieves unusually high engagement rates because he distills complex SEO concepts into clear, visual explanations. He was one of the first to bring genuine data science rigor to SEO education, analyzing millions of search results to identify ranking factors.

Brian monetizes through the Semrush acquisition of Backlinko, his SEO That Works online course (one of the most successful SEO courses ever launched, with thousands of students), his YouTube channel (500K+ subscribers), consulting and speaking engagements, and his website backlinko.com (now part of Semrush).

For Moonlite users, SEO remains one of the highest-ROI marketing channels available. Organic traffic is free, compounds over time, and converts at higher rates than paid traffic. Brian Dean and Backlinko represent the gold standard in SEO education — practical, data-backed strategies that work for businesses of all sizes. Whether you are building an SEO business, doing SEO for your own company, or offering SEO services as a freelancer, Brian's content provides the foundational and advanced knowledge needed to succeed.
