Bill DeWees is a professional voice actor and voice-over business educator who has earned millions of dollars in his voice acting career and now teaches others how to build profitable voice-over businesses from home. He is one of the most successful voice-over business educators on YouTube, with a channel dedicated to the business side of voice acting — not just vocal technique, but how to set up a home studio, find clients, and build a sustainable income as a voice actor. Bill's career spans commercial voice-over, e-learning narration, corporate narration, and audiobook production, giving him broad expertise across the most lucrative segments of the voice acting industry.

Content covers starting a voice-over business from home — equipment, studio setup, and getting started with zero experience, home studio construction — acoustic treatment, microphone selection, audio interfaces, and recording software on a budget, finding voice-over clients — online marketplaces, direct marketing, agents, and building relationships with production companies, voice-over demo production — creating professional demos that showcase your range and attract clients, pricing voice-over work — rate guides, usage fees, buyouts, and negotiating with clients, e-learning and corporate narration — the most consistent and high-paying segment of voice-over work, audiobook narration — ACX, Findaway Voices, and building an audiobook narration career, voice acting technique — breath control, pacing, characterization, and microphone technique, the business of voice acting — treating VO as a real business with marketing, accounting, and client management, and voice-over industry trends — AI voices, remote recording, and the evolving landscape.

What makes Bill exceptional is his track record of real-world success combined with practical business education. He has earned over $2 million in voice-over income, giving him credibility that most VO educators lack. His content focuses heavily on the business fundamentals — marketing, client acquisition, pricing — that determine whether a voice actor earns $500 or $500,000 per year. He is transparent about the realities of the industry, including the time it takes to build a sustainable income and the investment required for a professional home studio. His home studio setup guides are particularly valuable, showing how to achieve professional-quality recordings without spending tens of thousands on acoustic treatment. He regularly updates his content to address industry changes, including the impact of AI-generated voices on the profession.

Bill monetizes through his active voice-over business (commercial, corporate, and e-learning narration), online courses on building a voice-over business, YouTube ad revenue, one-on-one voice-over coaching, voice-over demo production services, and his YouTube channel and website.
