After building and testing multiple AI automation models we noticed something interesting. The people making real money with AI are not the ones obsessed with tools.
They follow what we call the 10–20–70 Rule:
10% AI tools
20% automation systems
70% strategy, positioning, and human insight
Most beginners flip this.
They spend 70% of their time learning ChatGPT prompts, Zapier flows or the newest AI tool.
But tools are easy. Everyone has them.
The real leverage comes from:
Choosing a narrow niche
Identifying one painful bottleneck
Designing a clear outcome
Then using AI to support that outcome
AI is not the business. Strategy is the business. Automation just amplifies it. If your offer sounds like “I build AI automations,” you’ll struggle.
If your offer sounds like “I help law firms increase qualified consultations by 30% using automated intake systems,” you will close clients. AI lowers execution cost. It does not replace thinking. That’s the difference between an AI hobby and an AI business.
