I keep seeing a lot of marketers download viral tiktok product videos, remix them, remove parts, add music, and then use them as Meta ad creatives. I’m curious how this actually works and if it’s really allowed.
The reason I’m asking is I don’t physically have the product, and I can’t shoot real videos myself. Since this is dropshipping and products go straight from the supplier to the customer. That’s why I see a lot of dropshippers just using videos already online, editing them, and running ads with those.
I’ve noticed this has become super common, especially with TikTok videos, but I’m not sure how safe it really is. If I download someone else’s video, add captions, transitions, or music, and then use it as my Meta ad creative, can that cause copyright or ad policy issues?
