I want to be honest about something I do not see talked about enough.
When I opened my Etsy shop I genuinely thought that if I followed the basics decent photos, proper tags, clean descriptions at least one sale would come quickly. Instead, it was just.. quiet. A few views here and there, some favorites and a lot of refreshing the dashboard wondering if I did something wrong.
What made it harder was seeing success stories everywhere. People posting screenshots of first week sales, viral products Etsy changed my life threads. Meanwhile I was stuck wondering if this was normal or if my shop was already dead.
So I am curious about the real timeline. Not friend or family support not luck an actual stranger choosing your product. How long did that first sale take for you and looking back, what do you honestly think made it finally happen?
