I’m 24, working a 9–5 job I don't enjoy, and I keep putting off what I actually want to do: build something in fashion. I’m finally ready to stop just thinking about it, but I’m starting with almost no money and no industry experience.
Here’s the exact plan I’m considering:

Start with a basic streetwear line (hoodies, sweatpants)

Use print-on-demand so I don’t hold inventory

Sell through Shopify or Etsy

Market only through organic TikTok + Instagram

Scale only if real demand shows up
It feels like the lowest-risk way to learn for real instead of overthinking. But I don’t know if this is a smart starting point or a slow trap that never really turns into a real brand.
For background: I have a bachelor’s in advertising & marketing and 1 year of agency experience. Another idea I’m considering is offering free marketing help to existing clothing brands in exchange for mentorship + behind-the-scenes exposure. I’m just unsure:
