I’m about to start an ebook business, but honestly im stuck on one basic thing… which platform should I sell on?
I’ve been doing a lot of research and I keep seeing different answers everywhere. Some people say Amazon KDP is the best. Others say Gumroad is better. I’ve also seen people recommend Shopify or even building your own website and hosting everything yourself.
The problem is, since im just starting out, I really don’t know which option makes the most sense for beginners.
My biggest concern is fees. If I pick the wrong platform, a big chunk of my profit could end up going to platform cuts and commissions, and I don’t wanna realize months later that I made the wrong choice.
For example, if I start with Gumroad, im not really sure how fair the fees are for someone new. Same with Amazon, I hear mixed things about control, royalties, and how competitive it is.
I’m also not planning to buy hosting or build my own website right now. I’m just looking for a platform where I can upload my ebook, bring my own traffic, and sell without a ton of setup.
Basically, I wanna start smart and not regret this later.
If anyone here is already selling ebooks, could you guide me a bit?
