So I posted this question on a bunch of platforms to get different perspectives, and now that I finally have some real clarity, I thought I’d share my insights here too.
Yes, it can be done. I’ve been through this myself. But it only works if you build the right system around it, not because it’s easy.
What I learned while managing multiple affiliates
When I first started, I was asking the exact same thing: “Do I need to hire more people for this?”
Turns out, that’s not the real question.
The real question is: Do you have clear goals and a structure that actually supports them?
Some things I realized very quickly:
-
It’s not about the number of affiliates.
-
It’s about how well you manage them.
-
You already know your goals, your resources, and how much time you have.
You also already know which affiliates actually put in effort and which ones don’t.
My biggest mistake early on
I was treating them like 20 separate individuals doing random things.
Affiliates aren’t magically going to act like a team.
You have to build that team dynamic.
Once I started treating them like different components of one project, not 20 solo creators, everything became way less chaotic.
Final verdict
Yes, it’s realistic for a small business to manage dozens of TikTok Shop affiliates.
But it only works if you create a system that fits your setup, not the fantasy version of a perfect team.
If you build structure around what you already have, it becomes manageable. If you don’t, it becomes overwhelming really fast.
