Here is how I find winning products. My 3 years of experience

Dropshipping

I’ve been doing ecom from last 3+ yrs now. I know, how fraustrating it is to find real guide without paying someone.

So, I thought let me just share how i do it. Maybe it helps someone. If anything isconfusing just ask me.

These are the free tools i use most of the time:

  • Smilarweb - for how much traffic  store is getting
  • Facebook ads library - to see what kind of ads and creatives competitors stores are running
  • Google keyword planner - to check how many people search for a product
  • Google trends - to see if a product is stable or dying in the last few years

Here are the ways to find winning product

1. Finding products in ad library

I search with simple problem words like acne, pain, cleaning, or sometimes offer words like free shipping.

After that I filter ads that have been running for at least 3 -4 weeks. If an ad is active for that long, it usually means they spent money on it and it’s working.

When I find something interesting, I go to similarweb to check the store traffic (prefer 50k+ monthly visits)

2. Checking competitor ads

I put the competitor’s website link in ad library and see their active ads.

The ads that are running the longest or repeated many times usually show what angle or creative works for them.

If the reach is 10k+ it means they tested it. If it 50k -100k+ it’s probably scaled.

3. Review google trends

Once I select the product from ads library, then I check google trends for the last 5 years.

I want to know if the product is stable or growing because the goal is long-term, not something that dies in two weeks.

I also check the country i plan to sell in. sometimes you need to try similar keywords for the same product to find the right trend line.

The whole idea is to pick products that already have demand. i don’t chase "unsaturated' items because most of the time they don’t last. I focus on validated products and then try to make my offer or angle better.

In the next post, I’ll share how to find suppliers and get cheaper wholesale prices.
