“Where do I even find the right supplier without getting played or wasting money?”
If you Google it, you’ll fall into a rabbit hole of random factories DM’ing “hello dear friend.”
So I kept it simple and stuck to the platforms people actually trust.
POD Supplier Platforms (Beginner-Friendly)
• Printify: biggest variety, best pricing
• Printful: premium quality, branding options
• Awkward Styles: great embroidery
• Gelato: global suppliers, fast international shipping
These are safe starting points if you want zero inventory.
Small-Batch / Cut & Sew Manufacturers
• Alibaba: huge directory, but check reviews + samples
• IndiaMart: affordable hoodies/tees, low MOQs
• Maker’s Row (USA): ethical, U.S.-based factories
• AS Colour, Bella+Canvas, Independent Trading Co.:buy blanks → print locally for consistent quality
This route feels more “real brand,” but also more responsibility.
How Many Units Should You Start With? (Realistic)
Most beginners over-order.
From what I learned, safe numbers look like:
Small Batch:
Start with 15–30 pieces per design. Enough to test demand without drowning in stock.
POD:
Order nothing. Just test what sells.
Pre-Orders:
Only produce what customers already paid for.
It’s better to sell out than stare at boxes in your room for 6 months.
My Plan After Today
I’m ordering a few blank samples, testing POD print quality, and shortlisting 2–3 suppliers for future small batches.
No big commitments until I see what people actually vibe with.
