I have been noticing something lately clients love seeing a list of certs on your profile, but once the project starts, all they really care about is whether you can actually fix the problem.
I’ve got a couple of certs myself, but I have also lost jobs to people with none just strong portfolios or good word of mouth. So now I am wondering, when it comes to real world clients, do certs actually make a difference or is it just about trust and results?
If you run your own security business, how much do certs help you land or keep clients? Do they ever ask, or do they only care after you have proven yourself?
