I keep seeing videos and posts about people making a living off bug bounties or freelance audits, but I can’t tell how real that is anymore.
I’ve been messing around with several platforms on weekends, found a few small issues here and there, but the payouts barely cover my coffee habit. Still… I love the work. It’s addictive, and it feels way more meaningful than my day job.
So I’m curious are there people here who actually do this full-time? Like no 9 to 5 no side gig just pure bug bounties or client audits. How long did it take before you could rely on it for income, and what does a realistic month look like?
Trying to figure out if this is something worth committing to or if the YouTube stories are just the highlight reels.
