Is YouTube Automation Legit?

Faceless youtube channel

So I’ve been going down this rabbit hole of “YouTube automation” lately. Every time I open YouTube or Twitter, there’s someone claiming they’re making $10k/month with faceless channels, outsourcing everything, and barely lifting a finger. Sounds amazing, right? But… It also sounds way too good to be true.

Here’s what I think I understand so far:

  • You pick a niche (finance, tech explainers, list videos, whatever).

  • You outsource scriptwriting, voiceovers, editing, thumbnails.

  • You manage the uploads, keywords, titles, etc.

  • Then apparently you just sit back and watch the ad revenue roll in.

The problem is… I don’t know if this is actually sustainable or if it’s just hype being sold by people who want to sell “automation courses.”

Like:

  • Does YouTube even allow this? I’ve heard channels get demonetized for “reused” or “repetitive” content.

  • Is text-to-speech still a no-go? Or do you basically have to hire human voiceovers?

  • If someone here has actually run an automated/faceless channel, did it work for you long term? Or did it fizzle out after a few months?

  • And realistically, how much does it cost to keep outsourcing every video?

I’m genuinely curious because I don’t want to waste time and money chasing something that looks shiny on the surface but has no real future. If anyone here has tried it (successfully or not), I’d love to hear your honest experience.
