How Much Does It Usually Cost to Rent a Bike?

I’ve been looking into renting a bike instead of buying one, mostly for short trips and maybe weekend rides. But every place I check seems to have a different pricing system. Some charge by the hour, some by the day, and a few even have weekly deals.

For those of you who’ve actually rented bikes recently:

• What’s the typical price range you’ve seen (hourly vs daily)?

• Do rental shops usually include helmets/locks in the price, or do you pay extra?

• Is it cheaper to go through an app or directly at a local shop?

I’m trying to figure out if renting regularly makes sense, or if it ends up being just as expensive as buying a decent used bike. Any insights would be super helpful!
