Luxury dog walking surprised me more than regular gigs

Luxury dog walker
When I first started walking dogs, I was charging the usual $15–20 per walk and thought that was just the going rate. Later, I realized there’s a whole other market of people who’ll gladly pay $40–50+ for “premium” service, especially in higher-income neighborhoods.

What makes it “luxury” isn’t walking the dog differently, it’s the add-ons, detailed updates, GPS tracking, photo check-ins, flexibility with last-minute bookings, and just presenting yourself more professionally. That shift alone basically doubled what I was making per hour.

It’s not the volume game, it’s about finding fewer but higher-paying clients who see their pets as family and don’t mind paying for that extra peace of mind.
