Remote customer support can actually pay well if you find the right companies

Remote customer support
I’ve been working in remote customer support for about a year now, and I can say there are legit options that pay in the $20/hr+ range. The catch is that most of them expect some previous experience or specific skills (tech support, billing, or handling sensitive accounts).

For me, the biggest breakthrough was focusing on companies that already have a reputation for paying decently, not random job boards. Think bigger names like American Express, U-Haul corporate, and some SaaS companies. They usually list openings directly on their career sites.

It’s definitely not a “pay to play” situation, if a job asks you for upfront money, it’s a scam. But if you position yourself well and apply strategically, there’s good money to be made in this space.
