I’ve been seriously considering getting into mobile windshield repair/replacement lately. The idea of going mobile instead of having a physical shop seems appealing since overhead is way lower, but I’m still trying to figure out how realistic it is to get steady customers.
From what I’ve read, the startup costs aren’t too crazy (tools, resins, maybe a small van or truck), but what I’m unsure about is the business side — things like how to get consistent jobs, whether insurance companies actually pay out reliably, and how competitive the market already is.
Has anyone here tried running a mobile auto glass hustle? Was it worth it in terms of income vs. effort?
