Tried arbitrage betting for a while - here’s what actually happened

Arbitrage betting
I gave arbitrage betting a shot last year because I kept seeing people online saying it’s basically free money if you use multiple sportsbooks. At first, it actually worked. I was placing small bets, maybe $20–30 at a time, and I was pulling in small but guaranteed profits. It felt almost unreal.

The problem came after a few weeks. Some of the sportsbooks caught on and either limited my account or straight up restricted me from certain bets. On top of that, you need to move money around constantly between sites, and sometimes odds shift so fast that the ‘sure bet’ disappears before you can lock it in.

Did I make money? Yes — a few hundred dollars. But was it sustainable? Not really. It’s not the ‘risk-free side hustle’ people hype it up to be. More like a short-term grind with constant hurdles.
