Do people really earn from AI influencers accounts?

I’ve been coming across more and more AI-generated influencer accounts on Instagram and TikTok, and I’m wondering if people are really making money from them or if it’s mostly hype. Do brands actually pay for collaborations with AI influencers the same way they do with real creators? Or is the revenue mostly ad-based and from building large followings? Would love to hear if anyone here has tried it or knows someone who’s actually earning from this.
