While looking into house sitting, I've found that people don't typically hire to just sit the house.
People want a value-add, so they'll typically want you to look after the pets and maybe do some small misc. tasks as well.
If you want to make consistent money as a house sitter, you also need to be prepared to be a pet sitter, plant sitter, and do various other household duties as well.
