Detailing itself isn't a passive business like real esate is. There will always have to be someone doing work for money to be earned.
But it can become passive, but not when you’re solo. When you’re doing every detail yourself, nothing is passive. You’re trading your time for money.
Where it actually starts becoming passive is once you hire the right people and build a system around them. I talked a lot about this in the interview. When I hired my A-player,the one who could train the next person and the next person after that, that was the unlock. That’s what let me step away from the day-to-day and start the coaching company. At that point, the detailing business kept running because I had people handling the jobs, the calls, the systems, everything.
So the passive part only kicks in when:

You scale beyond being a solo detailer

You bring on someone who can run the systems and train new people

You’re able to step out of the daily labor
That’s when it becomes a real business that can pay you even if you’re not touching cars.
If you stay solo, you’ll never have passive income. If you build a team the right way, you absolutely can.
